‘Von Ribbentrop in St. Ives: Art and War in the Last Resort’ Andrew Lanyon book

Paperback Book

Von Ribbentrop in St Ives: Art and War in the Last Resort by Andrew Lanyon

Published to coincide with the exhibition Von Ribbentrop in St Ives (25 Sep – 30 Oct 2010)

In 2010 Kestle Barton opened to the public and launched a new book alongside a related exhibition by painter, writer and filmmaker, Andrew Lanyon. Called Von Ribbentrop in St Ives, both the book and the original work on show concern the activities of Joachim Von Ribbentrop, the German Ambassador to Britain. The focus is on his pre-war visits to St Ives and the effects of the war on St Ives and its artists.

The book was originally published in hardcopy and then reprinted in 2011 in paperback. The book is 98 pages long, with colour images that comprehensively illustrate the research and artistic flair that Andrew Lanyon poured into the making of this project.
