Seventh Last Supper – Saturday 20th July, 19:00

Eighth Last Supper – Sunday 4th August, 19:00

Part of this season’s Planning Matters programme, numbers seven and eight in an ongoing series of suppers designed as a conceptual collaboration between Paul Chaney and infamous local chef Dominic Bailey, now operating as Adventures in Hospitality Ltd.

The Last Suppers explore post-collapse haute cuisine using carefully sourced high quality seasonal produce and foraged ingredients found within a five-mile radius of the site of consumption. Each course is cooked using firewood gathered from the local woods on an outdoor woodstove designed by Chaney and fabricated by local farmer Paul Williams.

The suppers will be served fireside next to the pavilion, or inside the pavilion if the weather is unfortunate. Menu to be confirmed. All dietary requirements can be catered for—vegan and vegetarian options will be available.

Chaney’s concept for a never-ending series of ‘last suppers’ alludes to the notion that we are equally in a moment of eternal apocalypse and eternal revolution—reminding us there is no threshold for collapse, as we sample the gastronomic possibilities and delights of a ‘sustainable’ post-collapse food system.

These events are supported by the National Lottery through Arts Council England.
