30 May 2017

In celebration of the installation of Abigail Reynold’s work Tol at Kestle Barton see Ledger Lines (27 May – 9 July), archaeologist James Gossip and Abigail will lead an expedition to Mên-An-Tol in West Penwith.

We will meet at 11.30 am on Tuesday May 30 in the lay-by on the road from Madron to Morvah ready to explore the monument though the eyes of an artist and an archaeologist. From the road it is a 10-15 minute walk to the stones.

James Gossip is a member of the Cornwall Archaeological Unit who has directed excavations investigating multi-phase prehistoric landscapes. He specialises in running community archaeology projects and was responsible for the resurrection of Carwynnen Quoit. He is president of the Meneage Archaeology Group currently digging at Boden on the Lizard.
Please bring drinks and food if you wish.
