Volunteer Garden Day in July

7 July 2018

Saturday 7 July from 10:30am – 4pm

You are invited to join the Kestle Barton team for a day of group gardening and a free, shared lunch.

Our first Volunteer Garden Day on Tuesday 17 April was a huge success despite the rain. Four volunteers join our team, and the eight of us were able to clear one of the large beds in the garden; breaking for a warm, home made lunch in the shelter of our Tea Hut.

Many people expressed an interest in joining in but could not make it on a weekday. All those who took part have said they enjoyed the day and would like to return for more.

So, encouraged by the enthusiastic responses we are hosting another Volunteer Garden Day this July the 7th, on a Saturday this time, and hoping it will be as productive and delicious as the last one!

Karen will be making another great lunch for everyone and we anticipate a continued sense of communal atmosphere and camaraderie as we spend another day in the garden doing light weeding together.

The gardens will just be coming into full bloom and there will be lots of foliage and colour to enjoy as we help our steadfast gardeners in the ever challenging task of keeping the weeds under control and the beds tidy.

This year Kestle Barton is participating in the National Garden Scheme to raise money for charity. On Wednesdays throughout the season all our admissions donations will go to Cornwall Hospice Care. Our participation in this scheme has provided additional incentive to make sure the garden is looking the best it can at all times. We welcome any support in this.

Please ring 01326 231811 to join us in this effort. We look forward to weeding with you!
