Kestle Barton is viewed by most as a relatively low-risk destination with regard to the concerns of the pandemic.
Our current entrance is from the car park through the garden into the gallery. There is ample outdoor space in our gardens to social distance. The gallery is small but has two large doors that remain open to the garden, except in very wet weather. It is rare that more than one party is in the gallery at a time, and you can easily enjoy the flowers while you await your turn if you wish to social distance further.
Our informal Tea Room has returned to a help yourself opportunity, with set prices for our light refreshments (coffee, tea, local apple juice, cakes and ice cream). Please be aware that we operate a cash only system here. If you are uncomfortable using the shared, public facilities you can ask a member of staff to help you. You are also more than welcome to bring a picnic and enjoy our apple juice in the garden.
Masks are no longer required, but we encourage everyone to be respectful of vulnerable people and to act sensitively. We will continue to keep the QR NHS app scan code on display for visitors to use, and to provide hand sanitizer at the entrance.
We will continue with adjustments in accordance with changing government guidelines for the safety of staff and visitors in response to Covid, and hope that everyone will feel safe and comfortable in our spacious gardens and gallery.
Opening hours: Tuesday – Sunday 10:30am – 4:30pm. We are closed on Mondays, but we are open on Bank Holiday Mondays throughout the season.
